To become a CBAP-certified professional, you need to meet some eligibility criteria. These include:

• A minimum of 7500 hours of experience working as a Business Analyst in the last 10 years, aligned with the Guide to the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge.
• Minimum 900 hours of experience working in four of the 6 knowledge areas of the BABOK Guide, for a total of at least 3600 hours out of the required 7500 hours.
• Two references from a career manager, client, or a Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) recipient.
• A minimum of 35 hours of Professional Development in the past four years.

The CBAP® exam application fee is $145* (USD). This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. The CBAP® exam fee varies depending on your IIBA® membership status:

• Member: $350 (USD)
• Non-member: $505 (USD)
• Corporate Member: $305 (USD)

Becoming an IIBA® member can significantly reduce the cost of the exam. 

*The IIBA may offer special discounts on the application fee or other exam-related costs.

The CBAP® exam retake fee also varies depending on your IIBA® membership status:

• Member: $295 (USD)
• Non-member: $450 (USD)

It's important to note that you are allowed a maximum of 4 attempts to pass the CBAP® exam within your eligibility period.

The renewal fee for CBAP certification varies depending on membership status with IIBA:

• Member of IIBA: $85
• Non-Member: $120

The certification is valid for three years from the date of certification. Certified professionals must renew their CBAP credentials to maintain active status and continue benefiting from their certification.
