The PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) Certification exam is structured to assess knowledge and skills in Agile practices. This exam format was recently updated in November 2024; here is a clear breakdown of the exam’s content and timing:

PMI ACP Exam Content Outline:

This exam domain will be streamlined from seven to four, and each has weightage on examinations. 

Note:  A 10-minute break is included in the PMI-ACP exam after question 60. After reviewing and submitting answers for the first 60 questions, you may take a break. However, once you proceed, you cannot return to the previous section of questions.

There is an optional tutorial before the exam begins and an optional survey after the exam is completed. The time spent on the tutorial and survey is not deducted from the 3-hour exam time.

Taking the PMI-ACP Exam

You have two options for taking the PMI-ACP exam:

1. In-Person at Pearson VUE PMI Test Centers
2. The Online Proctored Exam option allows you to take the exam from home, but it requires specific technical setups and a detailed check-in process.

PMI-ACP Passing Score: 

PMI does not set a certain passing score; always prepare to achieve 70%, which means answering at least 63 out of 90 questions correctly. 

Retaking the Exam

The re-examination fee for the Project Management Institute (PMI) Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) certification is,

• PMI member: Re-examination fee: $335
• Non-member: Re-examination fee: $395 

There are some criteria for retaking this PMI-ACP Exam, which follow, 

• Retake Limit: If you don't pass initially, you can attempt the PMI-ACP exam up to three times within a one-year period.
• Waiting Period: If you’re unsuccessful after three tries, you must wait 1 year from your last exam date before reapplying for the PMI-ACP certification.
• 1-Year Expiration: If your 1-year eligibility period ends without passing, you will need to reapply for the certification to start the process again.
