CAPM Certification Validity Period
The Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification is valid for three years from the date of issuance.
How to Renew CAPM Certification
To maintain a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, you must earn 15 Professional Development Units (PDUs) every three years:
1. PDU requirements in CAPM
You need to earn 15 Professional Development Units (PDUs) over a three-year cycle. You can earn PDUs through education and giving-back activities.
Education PDUs:
For example, you can earn a minimum of 9 Education PDUs, with at least 2 in each of the PMI three Talent Triangle areas: Ways of Working, Power Skills, and Business Acumen.
Giving Back PDUs:
You can earn a maximum of 6 Giving Back PDUs, with a maximum of 2 for professional work and 4 for volunteering and sharing knowledge.

3. Applying for CAPM Renewal
So after earning the required PDUs and arranging the renewal fee Start Reporting Log your PDUs in the Continuing Certification Requirements System (CCRS)
I. Log in to your PMI account
Go to PMI.org and log in to your PMI account.
II. Navigate to the CCRS tab
Go to the “My PMI” section, then click on the Continuing Certification Requirements (CCRS) tab.
III. Report or claim PDUs
Select the category and activity type for the PDUs you earned. Enter the required details, such as the date of activity, name of the provider, title and description of activity.
IV. Pay the renewal fee
You will receive an email with information and a link to pay your renewal fee.
